Champagne Ultradition • Laherte Frères • Champagne, France • A blend of 60% Pinot Meunier, 30% Chardonnay and 10% Pinot Noir from Aurelien Laherte. Golden champagne with a soft mousse, this is the most beautifully delicate yet flavoursome fizz. Whether you’re celebrating something special, or popping some bubbles just because, the memory of this wine will linger long after the glasses are empty.
Perrier Jouet • Champagne , France • Pretty, light and floral – think lemon butter and honey-blossom in full bloom. Crisp but complex, soft, rich and wildly moreish, Perrier Jouet (pronounce the ‘t’ !) is luxury in a glass. Best enjoyed in a big bubble bath.
Moonlight • Super Tranquil • Pet Nat • Zibibbo + Vermentino • 2021• Riverland, SA • Big yum. Huge. Like a lemonade icy pole in a glass, Super Tranquil is a delicious and epically refreshingly fizzy pet nat. Lemon and apple sorbet, this is the perfect wine to crack at 4pm. You deserve it.
Moonlight • Rose Paradis • Pet Nat • Shiraz • 2021 • Riverland, SA • This is Grownup Party Time in a bottle. Red frog lollies and rose hip tea, hibiscus – kinda biscuity, slightly earthy and completely dry. Fun and fizzy, tart, refreshing, delicious, this is anytime-kind-of-wine.
Sextant Altaber • Bourgogne Aligote • Burgundy, France • 2020 • Exceptional Aligote from 100-year-old vines in Puligny-Montrachet. Precise, pure and pretty, with apple blossom and a rich, savoury finish – this is everything you’d want an aligote to be. Drink it in the biggest glass you can find.
Brave New Wine • Riot Girl • 2021 • Great Southern, WA •A fun blend of sauvignon blanc, vermentino and viognier with a touch of skin contact for that chewy phunky texture. Easy drinking, delicious, green pear skins and lemon tart. Pair it with a cheese platter. Get it, girl.
Infringement Pinot Gris • Pat Underwood • 2022 • Leanganook, VIC • A pinot gris for the dry white wine lovers here. Light, with creamy lemon curd, fresh dill and a tonic water lift, this wine has got a little texture and damn it’s fresh. The kind of wine for a well earned thirst, pair it with fish & chips or something salty.
Arbois Lou Blanc • Michel Gahier • 2018 • Jura, France • Chardonnay grown on limestone and clay, with flavours of kombu, underripe pear and a wash of salty sea spray, you could happily drink this wine with a simple snack as an afternoon tipple. Keep the food simple, and marvel at the beauty and finesse of Gahier.
Bourgogne ‘Landré’ • Julien Altaber & Carole Schwab • 2019 • France • The Landre is a Chardonnay made in minuscule quantities, a beautifully lean wine, with a bright salinity and mineral edge. Perfect for aperitif or alongside rich seafood, this wine is a glittering example of why people just can’t get enough of Burgundy.
Bourgogne ‘La Combe’ • Domaine Derain • 2019 • France • 100% Chardonnay here. Honeyed, hawthorn flowers, lemon skin and apple are all brought together by a lick of acid for a racy finish. Don’t be afraid to give this wine a big ol’ swirl. Stunning stuff.
Sauvignon Blanc• Limus • Cape Jaffa, 2021• From Cape Jaffa, winemaker Kyatt has gone for a hands-off approach with this one. 100% savvy bee, it’s bold and fruity with a crisp dry finish, thanks to the beautiful limestone soils on the South Australian coastline. A true crowd pleaser here, this wine is the epitome of balance. Get into it!
Dormilona • Skinnie • Sauv Blanc • Margaret River, WA • 2021 • A slippery, slurpable skin contact wine from a wickedly good female winemaker, Dormilona means “lazy bones” – slip into a robe and pour yourself a big’ol glass and we’ll call it self care. Tastes like peaches and first kisses.
Mallaluka • Zibibbo + Chardonnay + Riesling • Multi-regional, NSW/SA, AU • 2021 • An aromatic, fruity delight – this wine is fresh as heck and delicious to boot. Its exotic spiciness meets exotic tropical fruit salad on a humid summer night. A wildly good time, if you’re into “phunky” skin contact wine, this one’s for you babe.
Konpira Maru • Admiral Ackbar (Semillon) • Kilmore, VIC, AUS • 2021• A textural skin contact semillon complete with Star Wars reference, this wine is so joyful – but we’d expect nothing less from the cheeky mates behind Konpira Maru. It’s verdant, delicious and fresh, a super fun good time juice which is perfect with or without food, BYO mates.
Po à Po • Julian Altaber • 2020 • Burgundy, France • The Po à Po is made from Aligote grapes, half destemmed and half whole bunch with 9 days of skin contact to add depth, texture, colour and weight to the wine. Due to the size of the plot, only a very small amount of this wine gets made, and even less makes it to Australia–it’s a rare and exciting wine to drink, best enjoyed with spicy food and good company.
Giovanni Armani Giorgio • Rosato dell’Amore • Nebbiolo + Aglianico • SA, AUS • 2021 • Perfect for aperitivo on the balcony – although when isn’t it the right time for a pink drink ?
