Thoughtful Gifting

Collaborators

What is your idea of the perfect gift?

Is it something that’s waited patiently on your wishlist all year? Or an out-of-the-blue present, so perfectly picked?

We ask three of our most talented, charming and thoughtful friends to share their gifting highs, lows and laughs.

Henry Wilson, Designer & Founder of Studio Henry Wilson

What’s your idea of the perfect gift?

HW: Something with a bit of history and a story. Preferably handmade and decadent that you wouldn’t buy yourself.

What’s the most surprising gift you have ever received?

[Laughing] Someone once gave me an Aesop oil burner that I designed.

What’s your greatest extravagance when it comes to the holiday season?

Cold butter, brown bread, oysters.

Davide Di Giovanni, Choreographer, Dancer & Artistic Director of NON (New Old Now)

What’s your idea of the perfect gift?

DG: A book to read – you can never go wrong with that gift.

What’s the most meaningful gift you have ever received?

When my partner gave me a necklace with the first letter of my dog’s name – ‘G’. The very same I had lost months before.

What’s your greatest extravagance when it comes to the holiday season?

A facial with a full body massage.

Simone Gooch, Florist & Founder of Fjura

What’s your idea of the perfect gift?

SG: An experience – be it a jar of honey, incense, flowers, a holiday. Something ephemeral, nothing permanent.

What’s the most surprising gift you have ever received?

Both from clients – some incredibly special Japanese incense and a cashmere Hermès jumper.

What’s your favourite flower to give?

Whatever flower is looking the most special, at that given time.
