Christmas & New Year’s in the Hood


We've put together a list of who's open and what's happening this holiday season so you can check-in and relax.


— Paramount Coffee Project will be open Christmas Day and New Year’s day for hotel guests only 8 am – 1 pm. Open every other day to the public.

— Golden Age Cinema will be open to the public Tuesday – Sunday except for Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve and New Years Day.

— Poly and Paramount Recreation Club are closed on public holidays.

— Chin Chin room service for Paramount House Hotel will be operating throughout, with the exception of Christmas Day, 25th December.


Cho Cho San has a Christmas Feast including Sydney Rock Oyster, Hibachi Scallops with Kombu Butter, Black Sesame Ice Cream Mochi and more for $105 per person. Book here.

The Winery:  Christmas lunch is available to book from 12 – 4 pm, and involves a delicious, festive 3-course lunch for $110 per person. Step things up a notch with bottomless drinks for $49 per person, or get the fancier drinks for $89 per person. Bookings here.

— Continental Deli (Newtown). Always a favourite and ever-reliable. Open from 12pm – 5pm. Christmas Roast available. Bookings here

— Pilu (Freshwater): Celebrate Christmas with a 4-course lunch for $290 per person or $90 for kids. Bookings here.

— Ormeggio at the Spit: Ormeggio is hosting Christmas with a luxury lunch option that includes an Aperol spritz and three oysters on arrival for $365 per adult.  An alternative option starts at $285 per adult or $99 for kids. Bookings between 11.45 am and 3 pm. To book click here

Palace Chinese Restaurant / Marigold – For a different kind of Christmas feast, try doing Yum Cha on Christmas Day at these iconic venues 

Glass Brasserie: They’re doing a 3-course Christmas brunch for $95 per person, including unlimited barista coffee for any post-Christmas eve hangovers. Bookings here.
